You can upgrade your plan anytime. An upgrade takes place immediately and follows your existing billing cycle.
- Unused days of service will be deducted from the price of the new plan.
- You will only be billed for the remaining days of your billing cycle based on the new plan price.
- Credits consumed from the previous plan will be deducted from the credits of the new plan.
For the purpose of this example we will assume the prices:
- 30k plan: $20.95 per month
- 60k plan: $41.95 per month
Tom purchased his 30k plan on April 1st, 2021. On April 20th, Tom decides that his business needs more mailing power so he upgrades to 60k. The billing cycle (renewal date) will remain the same, and it will automatically renew on May 1sh, 2021.
The cost per day on a 30k plan is $0.70. Tom has already used 20 days of his 30k plan and has 10 days remaining (or $7). The cost per day on a 60k plan is $1.40.
Note: The daily price of monthly plans is calculated based on the actual days of the month, the annual plan is based on 365 days.
For the 60k Plan upgrade, Tom will be charged:
$41.95 (60k plan) - $7 (unused days on 30k plan) - $28 (already used days on the monthly subscription) = $6.95
Tom has used 25k credits from his 30k plan before upgrading to 60k plan. That means that once the plan has been upgraded, Tom will have the following credits at his disposal :
60k (new plan) - 25k (used credits from the previous plan) = 35k
Example with extra usage (emails sent in excess of the limit of the plan):
Tom has purchased the same 30k plan, but used 35k credits (5k extra usage) from his 30k plan before upgrading to 60k plan. That means that once the plan has been upgraded, Tom will have the following credits at his disposal :
60k (new plan) - 35k (used credits from the previous plan) = 25k
Downgrades are always scheduled to take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
