Introduction
The Campaign Exclusion List allows you to ensure certain email addresses are excluded from marketing campaigns while maintaining transactional email flow. This step-by-step guide covers how to access, add, and remove contacts from the list and export the exclusion data for your records.
Access your Campaign Exclusion List
- Navigate to the Contacts tab in the main menu and select Exclusion List.
- The Exclusion List displays:
- All excluded contacts.
- The last email activity date for each address.
- An action log and management tools.
Add contacts to the Exclusion List
You can add contacts to your Campaign Exclusion List manually or by uploading a file.
From a contact list page
- Go to your Contacts Page and open a contact list.
- Click the Cog icon and select Exclude from Campaigns.
3. Confirm the action in the pop-up to exclude the address.
You can exclude multiple email addresses at once by selecting the addresses, clicking Actions, and choosing Exclude from Campaigns.
Import via a file upload
- From the Campaign Exclusion List page, click Manage Contacts.
2. Copy and paste email addresses into the input box or upload a file in CSV, TXT, or RTF format.
Note: Only email addresses can be added; additional properties such as names or cities will not be imported.
3. Click Add Contacts to finalize the upload.
And that’s it - the email addresses have been added to your exclusion list.
Remove contacts from the Exclusion List
You can remove contacts directly from the Exclusion List or via a contact list.
From the exclusion list page
- To remove a single address, click the Cog icon and select Delete.
- Confirm the action in the pop-up.
The address will be removed from the list and will once again receive your campaigns.
To remove multiple contacts:
- Select the addresses to remove.
- Click the Delete icon.
Via a contact list page
- In the contact list, click the Cog icon and select Remove from Campaign Exclusion List for individual addresses.
2. To remove multiple addresses, follow the same steps in bulk.
Download the Exclusion List
Export your Exclusion List as a CSV or TAB-delimited file:
- Click Download on the Exclusion List page.
- Choose your preferred file format.
