If you received an alert for a new sender address that you do not own, please check if there are scripts somewhere on one of your websites that are configured to send an email when someone fills in a form or signs-up for a newsletter. Check if the script is using the intended recipient address as the “From:” address. Make sure that the sender (From) matches with your own address.
Start by checking the script within your website that is set up to send email notifications, particularly your contact forms. Make sure that the sender (the From field) matches with your own address. Perhaps, the script in the contact form is using the prospect's address as a sender. This is a common mistake and often done in order to be able to use the "Answer to" function in the email client.
The solution is to use these 3 values:
- From : an address you own (must be validated in your Mailjet account)
- To : your contact address
- Reply-To : your prospect's address
Once you have updated you scripts, you can remove the sender address from your Mailjet account. If it shows up again, there might be another mis-constructed script!
You should always try to fix your scripts, because this is an important lack of security often used by spammers. Our support team would be glad to help if you encounter difficulties.
