Re-engaging inactive contacts is a key part of maintaining a healthy contact list. Use our requalification email template to create a re-engagement campaign that asks your contacts whether they’d like to continue receiving marketing emails from you. Contacts can choose to remain on your list or unsubscribe.
Step 1: Download the requalification email template
Start by downloading the requalification email template from your Mailjet account.
Step 2: Create a new campaign
Create a campaign and, on the “Choose how you want to design your email” screen, select 'Code in MJML.' Import the MJML template file and, when prompted, select the Drag-and-Drop Editor option.
Step 3: Customize the confirmation buttons
In the Email Editor, locate the 'Yes, keep me in your list' button. Add a link to a page on your website or use the Landing Pages feature to thank your contacts for confirming their interest in your marketing emails.
Note: The 'No, unsubscribe' button is already linked to the Mailjet unsubscribe link and requires no additional configuration.
Step 4: Finalize and send
Finish customizing your campaign to match your branding and messaging. Once ready, send the campaign to your contacts.
How to show proof of consent
Proof of consent is critical for compliance with regulations like GDPR. Mailjet tracks which contacts confirm their interest by clicking the 'Yes, keep me in your list' button. This information is stored in the Click Analytics section of your campaign statistics.
- Open your campaign statistics and navigate to the Links tab.
- Locate the Clicks List table to view contacts who clicked the Yes button link.
- Click the Download button to save this list locally as proof of consent (opt-in). You can also use this list to create a new contact list of engaged recipients.
Note: Available only on Premium plans.
