Summary
Introduction
With Mailjet Account sharing, team collaboration on your campaigns and templates just got a lot easier.
Assign different permissions to each person’s access based on their role. For example, allow your email marketers access to your campaigns, your developers access to your transactional templates and only share the billing sections with your accounting team.
Number of Shared Users
You can share access to your Primary Account or/and any of your subaccounts. (Not sure what a subaccount is? Take a quick look at our Subaccount FAQ).
If you reach the maximum number of users and require more, please contact us for a custom plan.
Your Account Sharing Page
Go to "Account settings" → "Account Sharing".
The ‘Share your account’ page provides an overview of the current users who have access to your account, along with your plan limit.
Share Access to Your Account
Once you are on the ‘Share your account’ page, found under 'Account settings', click on ‘Invite User’.
Enter the email address of the person you want to share your account with.
Select the account to which this user will gain access. If you don't have additional subaccounts, only the Primary account will be available.
If you have subaccounts, choose from the drop-down list the account(s) to which you want to grant access, and then click 'Continue'.
Next, choose the access options the user will have. You can select from predefined permissions* based on their role or manually select the permissions yourself.
* Also known as 'role-based access'. For more details, refer to the following paragraph.
The window will expand to show all the available permissions. Simply check the permissions you want to grant to the new user. Once all the permissions are set, click the ‘Send Invitation’ button.
An email invitation will be sent to the person asking them to join Mailjet. If the person already has a Mailjet account, they can use it to access your account. Otherwise, they will need to create a share access point to be able to connect to the shared account.
Once the person has accepted your invitation, the status will change from ‘Pending’ to ‘Active’.
How to accept a shared access invitation
You already have an active Mailjet account
You'll receive an email from Mailjet informing you that someone has requested to share access to their account with you.
Open the email and click on the "Sign In" button or copy the invitation link to your browser address bar. This will direct you to the Mailjet login page.
Log in using your existing Mailjet credentials.
You do not have a Mailjet account
You'll receive an email from Mailjet informing you that someone has requested to share access to their account with you.
Open the email and click on the "Sign In" button or copy the invitation link to your browser address bar. This will direct you to the Mailjet sign-up page.
Fill in the necessary information, such as your name, email address, and password, to create shared access to the account without needing to create a separate Mailjet account.
Role-based access
'Role-based access' allows you to assign different permissions to users based on their roles or responsibilities within the organization.
For example, an email marketer may have access to campaign creation and analytics, while a developer may only have access to template editing and API integration settings. By defining roles and assigning corresponding permissions, organizations can ensure that team members have the appropriate level of access to Mailjet's features while maintaining security and efficiency.
You can choose from the following roles:
- Manager - Full account access but cannot manage other users and their permissions.
- Marketer - Can manage contact lists, send campaigns and manage automation workflows. Can also suggest modifications to transactional templates, but cannot publish them.
- Developer - Can manage API credentials, publish transactional templates, and lock transactional template sections to protect them.
- Designer - Can only access templates and suggest changes, without publishing them. Can also lock sections to protect the design.
- Accountant - Can only access billing information.
- Custom - More granular selection of permissions.
